To reserve your shoot date, 50% of session fee is due at time of booking (serves as a retainer and is non-refundable), 50% is due on the day of the session. If you need to reschedule your session due to sickness, injury, or a scheduling conflict — please contact me at least 24 hours prior to your session and the retainer will move with the session.

I know family photos can feel stressful—wrangling kids, coordinating outfits, hoping everyone cooperates.
Here's what actually happens at my sessions:
Before we meet: You'll receive my wardrobe guide with specific suggestions for Austin's climate and locations. I'll also send location details and what to bring.
First 10 minutes: We'll ease into things. Kids might be shy at first—that's totally normal. I usually start with something fun to break the ice.
The bulk of our time: I'll give you prompts like "absolutely no smiling allowed" or "everyone try to make Dad laugh" or "let's go explore that tree." You interact naturally while I capture the moments.
The last 10 minutes: We'll grab those classic, everyone-looking-at-camera shots. By now, everyone's comfortable and those genuine smiles come easily.

WHEN TO SCHEDULE YOUR AUSTIN FAMILY SESSION
Best times of year: Spring (March-June) and Fall (September-November) offer the most comfortable temperatures and beautiful light. Summer sessions work great for early morning or late evening shoots to avoid the Texas heat.
Best time of day: I typically recommend scheduling sessions 1-2 hours before sunset for that gorgeous golden hour light. Morning sessions (within first hour after sunrise) also create beautiful, soft lighting.
Heads up: I typically book 4-6 weeks out, with fall sessions booking up by late summer. If you're hoping for specific dates (especially around holidays), I recommend reaching out 2-3 months in advance.

How long does a family session take?

Most sessions last 45-60 minutes. This gives us plenty of time to capture variety without wearing out the little ones. If you have very young children (under 3), I recommend planning for the longer end so we can work with their attention spans.
I provide a detailed wardrobe guide, but the short version: choose colors that complement each other without being too matchy-matchy. Avoid logos and busy patterns. Austin's climate means layers work great—you can always remove a cardigan if it gets warm.

What should we wear?
This is my specialty! I work with kids at their level and on their terms. Some of my best shots happen during "meltdowns" or when kids are being silly. Trust the process—I've photographed hundreds of Austin families and I promise, it always works out.

What if my kids won't cooperate?
You'll receive your edited gallery within 2-3 weeks of your session. Rush delivery is available for an additional fee if you need photos for time-sensitive holiday cards.

Absolutely! Generation portraits (grandparents, parents, grandchildren) are some of my favorite sessions. I can accommodate groups up to about 12 people. There is a $25 charge per person for each individual over the 5-person $850 fee.
